There's something of a thrill in seeing a TV program live, to not having to wait for a download or for it to come up on iTunes. There's a lot of reasons why you would be using other methods to see your TV programs, such as not wanting to subscribe to cable for one or two programs. Most of your friends know about iPods, but I bet they don't know about this. Like I said, it's an open secret, since you either know about it or you don't. The cable TV providers wouldn't want you to know about it, even though it's totally legal.
