Nokia's C3 Has Alot of Competition But Will the Low Price of the C3 Prove to Be the Deciding Factor?

Nokia have launched a new affordable messaging Smartphone, the Nokia C3 is similar in looks and functionality to some of there popular E' series phones. The build quality for such a reasonably priced handset is impeccable, the 3 ticks the digital camera, FM radio, social networking and e-mail boxes, and it also has a multimedia hub and Wi Fi technology for quick easy web connectivity. It comes in three colour variations; Slate Grey, Hot Pink and Golden White.

The C3 looks nice with its supple, rounded chassis and the 2.4 inch QVGA display sits perfectly above the full QWERTY keyboard, it has visual similarities to the E5. Nokia have produced this handset for the Tweens out there, the social networkers who need links to there accounts at all times; Facebook and Twitter have been given priority with feeds supplied from both to your handset, the C3 is entirely e-mail compatible with manageable accounts including Hotmail, WindowsLive, Yahoo!Mail and Gmail. IM (instant messaging) is possible; Nokia have allowed the C3 to handle IM accounts with WindowsLive Messenger, Yahoo! Messanger and GoogleTalk with there free Ovi chat in place so you can communicate with other Ovi users free!

Nokia have attached a sweet little 2 mega pixel camera to the back; it manages your regular snaps well enough; it has a digital zoom, self timer and an assortment of image effects for you to play with. The video recorder run through the camera has the same digital zoom and some more effect to fiddle about with, the player supports video download and streaming, it plays H.263, H.264, avi, and M-PEG4 quite comfortably and the quality of playback is pretty reasonable considering the reasonable price tag.

The Nokia C3 houses a handy little music player which functions as you would expect; it has all of your basic play, forward, rewind and repeat controls, it can happily playback MP3, WMA and various AAC and eAAC formats, the audio quality is ok when played through the speakers but the practical little 3.5mm AV jack can be used with your favourite headphones for private listening. The C3 has a microSD card slot which manages up to 8GB of external memory; this delivers plenty of storage for your music, images and videos; all of which can be wirelessly sent to other compatible devices via the Bluetooth technology or USB 2.0 connection.

All of the above features are supported by the phones Symbian platform and S40 user interface; the interface makes for simple navigation through the phones applications and functions and the Symbian platform offers its support via the various Nokia services it powers, messaging services to be exact with support from 3.0 versions of Chat, Communities and E-Mail. Overall the Nokia C3 is a cheap messaging device which has been developed with the young tweeters and Facbookers in-mind; this is obvious with the colours it is available in and the speedy Wi Fi connectivity which is handy when nearby a local wireless hotspot. The C3 has alot of competition but will the low cost of the phone prove to be the deciding factor?
